Privacy and data protection framework
When we collect or process personal information about you in the European Economic Area (EEA), or if you are located in the EEA and we offer goods or services to you, we are regulated under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which applies to all European Union (EU) Member States as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, which together comprise the EEA. We are also regulated by the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 with respect to our UK customers. We act as the controller of that personal information for the purposes of those laws.
A cookie does not identify you personally, but it does identify your computer.
Third party services are not under our control and we are not responsible for third party services (including the suitability for your intended use of the third party services). We do not endorse or recommend any third party services or any associated provider organization or their product or services.
Please note that such persons may be located outside of Australia. Some countries outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland (including Australia) do not have the same data protection laws. We will ensure that any transfer to such countries of your personal information in cases where the GDPR applies to such transfer, either by us or by any third party supplier to whom we provide your information, will (unless the European Commission considers their laws adequate) be subject to appropriate safeguards (e.g. a data processing agreement containing European Commission-approved model clauses or terms consistent with them, or for transfers to the US, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) to the extent required under the GDPR that are designed to help safeguard your rights and give you remedies in the unlikely event of a misuse of your personal information.
Your rights and how to exercise them
Under the GDPR (where it applies), you have a number of important rights. For further information on each of those rights, including the circumstances in which they apply, see for example the guidance from the European Commission or UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) on individuals’ rights under the UK GDPR. If you do not wish to have your personal information used or disclosed in a manner described in this Privacy Policy, you can contact us.
Data protection and retention
We will take reasonable steps to protect all personal information which we hold from misuse, loss and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure. We will continue to store and hold your personal information, until such time as we no longer need it for any purpose for which the information may be used or disclosed under this Privacy Policy or under applicable privacy or data protection laws or (if earlier, and subject to the next paragraph) a reasonable time after you ask us to delete it. We encourage you to update us regularly with your personal information to ensure we hold information about you that is up-to-date, accurate and complete. You may make a request for access to or correction of any personal information we hold about you. A fee will not apply to making a request for access or update to or deletion of your personal information. A fee may apply and be charged for providing the information to you. The fee covers the cost to us in collating, copying and providing certain information to you.
Handling complaints
Any complaint should be made first in writing to us. We will then respond to your complaint in writing and in accordance with any timeframes required by law. We may require you to provide further information about your complaint to duly assess your complaint. If for any reason you do not wish to complain to us initially or if you are unhappy with how we propose to resolve your complaint, the complaint may also be made to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

What makes DaVinci Resolve safe for professionals
DaVinci Resolve is the world’s only all-in-one solution for editing, color, VFX, motion graphics and audio, with a user-friendly interface designed for rapid learning yet powerful performance for professionals. The software supports work with camera original quality images throughout the entire process, enabling collaboration across editors, colorists, visual effects artists and sound engineers in real time. It is built around a modular “pages” design-editing on the Cut and Edit pages, color on the Color page, VFX and motion graphics on Fusion, audio on Fairlight, and media management on the Media and Deliver pages-allowing concurrent work without excessive file transfers or project imports/exports. The system also integrates AI tools for facial recognition, object detection, smart reframing and more, while offering robust hardware acceleration and compatibility with a wide range of storage solutions and third-party plugins.
New workflow integration and encoding APIs enable developers to connect DaVinci Resolve with asset management systems, while a range of hardware control options-from dedicated panels to high-end consoles-support professional studios. The free version includes core editing, color, and audio tools, with paid DaVinci Resolve Studio adding extra effects, 3D tools and AI capabilities, making the platform adaptable for both hobbyists and large-scale productions.

DaVinci Resolve’s design emphasizes real-time collaboration and scalable post-production pipelines, with project libraries built for simultaneous work by multiple users, and remote collaboration features such as Blackmagic Cloud. This approach reduces bottlenecks, minimizes data loss during handoffs, and supports complex pipelines that are common in feature films and television production.
