DaVinci Ristorante on Marco Island: A True Italian Gem in Southwest Florida

The Carvelli and Serravalle families have created a little slice of their homeland in the quaint atmosphere of Marco Island. DaVinci’s Ristorante brings a bit of Italy to your table with authentic homemade pastas, prepared fresh daily and made with only the freshest ingredients. DaVinci’s offers one of the best Happy Hours in southwest Florida, with wines, liquors and beers starting at $3 and Signature Craft Cocktails for $8.

Our wine list features an exceptional variety of Italian wines from every region in Italy as well as a wide selection from France, Napa, Germany, Spain and more. During our last visit to Marco Island, Florida in late November, we visited DaVinci’s Ristoranté for Happy Hour, which is from 4:30pm to 6pm. DaVinci’s Ristoranté is a sister restaurant to Marco Prime and Oyster Society, sharing a similar upscale yet inviting outdoor seating area and a welcoming ambiance.

Atmosphere and Service

Just like the sister restaurants, they have a nice big outdoor seating area, and the mosaic at the entrance was quite stunning. A friendly and talented man with an accordion came around to entertain the patrons, adding a nostalgic charm to the dining experience. The bar runs along the left side of the entrance and wraps around to the outdoor area, creating a generous space for Happy Hour enjoyment.

The staff are attentive and welcoming, with service that enhances the Italian hospitality DaVinci’s aims to deliver. The overall vibe blends casual elegance with family-friendly warmth, making it suitable for both intimate dinners and lively group outings.

Happy Hour: Drinks and Light Bites

We started our evening with two cocktails, Rucola and Rhubarb Old Fashion ($8/Happy Hour) and Strawberry Basil Margarita ($8/Happy Hour). The Rucola and Rhubarb Old Fashion is made with Bourbon, Rucolino, Zucca Rabarbaro, Peach, and Bitters; it’s notably strong with citrus and fruit notes courtesy of the bittersweet rhubarb base. The Strawberry Basil Margarita is crafted with Tequila, Fresh Strawberries, Basil, Fresh Sour, and Salt Rim, offering a vibrant aroma and a bold strawberry-basil flavor.

For a second round, we enjoyed Violetta ($8/Happy Hour) and Mojito Mule ($8/Happy Hour). Violetta combines Vodka, Lemon Juice, Black Berries, Sage, Creme de Yvette, and Luxardo, delivering a rich, berry-forward profile with a fragrant sage note. Mojito Mule blends Rum, Fresh Lime Juice, Simple Syrup, Mint, and Ginger Beer for a classic, refreshing finish with minty brightness.

Accompanying the drinks, the bread and olive oil with tapenade provided a deep, olive-forward start to the meal. The bread varieties were soft and fluffy, perfect for sopping up flavorful sauces to come.

Appetizers and First Courses

Polpette Alla Parmigiana ($7/Happy Hour) featured beef meatballs smothered in Marinara Sauce and topped with melted smoked Mozzarella Cheese. Extra cheese dusted on top showcased the kitchen’s generous approach to flavor and texture.

Cheese Ravioli ($8/Happy Hour) was stuffed with Ricotta Cheese and served in Pink Vodka Sauce; the ravioli were soft with a satisfying cheese filling and a pleasant chew. These starters underscored DaVinci’s ability to balance classic Italian comfort with thoughtful preparation.

Second Courses and Pastas

Rollatini Di Melanzane ($9/Happy Hour) is sliced Eggplant stuffed with Ricotta, topped with Mozzarella and Marinara. It proved richer and more substantial than expected, resembling a larger, cheesier rendition of similar stuffed pasta dishes and is quite filling when paired with other dishes.

Greek Shrimp ($9/Happy Hour) features four large shrimp, Black Olives, Garlic, Tomato Sauce, and Feta Cheese. The shrimp were plump, and the sauce offered a robust balance of savory and briny flavors, with feta adding a salty, tangy finish.

Other featured dishes in this hearty section included a variety of house-made raviolis and pasta courses, with many options described as stuffed with ricotta and other cheeses, finished with tomato or cream-based sauces, and accompanied by house salads. A broad selection of menu items highlights DaVinci’s emphasis on handmade pasta and fresh ingredients.

Seafood and Specialty Dishes

The kitchen also offers seafood-focused options that pair well with the wine list. Dishes such as shrimp, grouper, scallops, and other seasonal seafood selections are presented with thoughtful sauces, vegetables, and accoutrements. One highlight noted was a sauce-forward preparation that enhanced the natural sweetness of seafood, complemented by herbs and light creams where appropriate.

Meat and Vegetarian Options

In addition to seafood, the menu includes beef and pork-focused dishes with classic Italian preparation methods, including ragù-style sauces, creamy finishes, and cheese-backed toppings. The selection of vegetables and pasta-based vegetarian dishes demonstrates the restaurant’s ability to cater to diverse dietary preferences while maintaining Italian flavor profiles.

Private Dining and Events

DaVinci’s offers private party facilities with a private dining area, sliding doors for privacy, and cozy booths. The space is adaptable for gatherings up to 50 guests, expandable for up to 100 guests in a semi-private setting. This makes it an attractive option for celebrations and business events in the Marco Island area.

Nearby Context and Related Venues

DaVinci’s Ristoranté is a sister restaurant to Marco Prime and Oyster Society, which suggests a shared approach to hospitality and culinary philosophy across the family of restaurants. Guests often note that the Oyster Society location has provided excellent seafood-focused experiences, while DaVinci’s is ideal for cheesy comfort food and Italian classics.

OpenTable reviews highlight high marks for food, service, ambience, and value. Diners repeatedly praise the fresh pasta, attentive staff, and consistently satisfying meals.
